Hello there. Please tell us who you are and what you do at MADFINGER Games.

• Hey there! My name is Kate, and I am an ASO Specialist here at MADFINGER. That means I take care of the App Store Optimization of all our games and their performance on the stores.

How does one get to do something like this? What were you doing before you got this job?

• It all started four years ago when I joined the customer care/community team in MADFINGER Games as a temp job while studying at the university. Luckily, Madfinger is a perfect place where you can grow, so when I felt that I'd love to move forward, I showed interest in learning the ASO stuff, and the team supported me on this path.

How would you describe your typical day at work?

• Coffee first :) Then I check how our apps perform on both stores (Google/Apple), how the experiments with new graphic assets on the store page are going and if we need to make any changes. The job is very creative! I have to keep an eye on the trends not just across video games but also movies, tv-series, music, and pretty much anything that you can imagine to make our games as tempting for players as possible.

What tools do you mostly use during your work?

• Mostly App Store Connect and the Google Play Console, where all the magic happens. To cast the proper spells, I need App Tweak and App Figures. Both tools help me with all the necessary everyday research. Google Docs and Sheets are also a must to keep the work structured.

What would you say is the most fun part about your job?

• Definitely being surrounded by my amazing team. I’m glad I get to enjoy their company every day. Not only do we have great fun, but we also support and encourage each other.

Do you play any games? If so, which ones would you say are your favorite, both old and new?

• Yeah, I play a lot! I love esports, so it's no surprise that my favorite titles are CS:GO and League of Legends. Apart from that, I also enjoy the Assassin's Creed series, HITMAN or my beloved strategy game, Age of Empires II.

And what about your time outside the studio? Any hobbies or other activities?

• I like to hang out with my friends, watch movies, series or sports events. Esports are also a huge part of my everyday life. I even write articles about them for the biggest esports web here in the Czech Republic. I also like to keep myself updated about the things that happen around the world, so I am interested in politics as well.
